Framingham Police Granted $2,000 from MutualOne for National Night Out

National Night Out is a community-police awareness event held annually across the country since 1984.

A $2,000 grant from the MutualOne Charitable Foundation will help fund the Framingham Police Department’s National Night Out on August 5 from 4 to 7 p.m.

National Night Out is a community-police awareness event held annually across the country since 1984. Locally, it brings Framingham families and seniors together with Framingham police and fire personnel for an evening of free barbecue served by the Framingham Housing Authority staff, music, tours of fire engines and squad cars, ice cream, and more.

The grant to the Framingham Police Department was among awards totaling $101,065 in the Foundation’s most recent round of funding.

Since it was established in 1998, the MutualOne Charitable Foundation has donated over $2.8 million to charitable, educational, and civic initiatives that improve and enhance the quality of life in Framingham, Natick, and surrounding communities.
