Framinghammer Wins Gold for Jack's Abby Brewing

Jack Abby's Brewing in Framingham won two beer medals at the World Beer Cup, as its Saxonator won bronze.

Jack's Abby Brewing won a gold medal for its Framinghammer Friday night at the World Beer Cup in Colorado.

The Framingham brewers won two medals over the weekend, including a bronze medal for its Saxonator, a German-style lager, according to its Facebook page.

The World Beer Cup is the largest brewer-judge competition and this year more than 4,500 brews were entered.

Founded in January 2011, brothers Jack, Eric and Sam Hendler have grown the business dramatically in less than three years and have won several regional and national awards along the way.

In 2012, the brewer's Smoke & Dagger, a lager, won bronze from the Great American Beer Fest in Colorado. In 2013, its Mass Rising earned gold at the same festival.

In Nov. 2013, the MetroWest Chamber of Commerce named the brewers small business of the year.
