Hanson's Farm Open For Season with Herbs, Veggies, Flowers and CSA Shares

"While it has been a cold start to the season, our plants are looking great and we are eager to share with you all," said Owner Tom Hanson. "Right now in the stand, we have a variety of herbs ranging from basil to pineapple mint."

Hanson's Farm stand is now open.

"The greenhouses are filled with plants and we are planting new
things in the field each day," said Tom Hanson.

Are you looking to plant some vegetables? Hanson's Farm has peppers, tomatoes, lettuce, eggplant, squash, brussel sprouts, just to name a few.

Hanson's Farm grows more than 50 different fruits and vegetables.

The 5th generation farm, which has roots back to the 1700s, also has beautiful hanging flower baskets for purchase.

This year marks the sixth year of Hanson's Farm's CSA.

Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) is a partnership between a farm and its community of shareholders; sharing both the benefits and risks associated with farming.

"It has been very successful in the past and we can’t wait to do it
again," said Hanson.

The shareholder buys a “Share of the Harvest” up front, which helps the farm cover early season operating expenses (i.e. seed, greenhouse heating expenses, labor, etc.). In return, the shareholder receives a weekly share of the harvest on a regular pick-up day throughout the growing season.

It is not too late to sign up for Hanson's CSA.

"By joining our CSA you show your support of local agriculture, a family business and get 20 weeks of fresh, safely grown produce," said Hanson.

A share also includes you-pick items each week (strawberries, peas, cherry tomatoes etc).

"It is a great way to eat local, healthy food all summer long," said Hanson.

Cost is $650.00 for a full share but half shares are available.

Stop by the farm stand to sign up or download
the form at

Pick up day is either Tuesdays from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. OR Friday from 10 am to 7 pm at  the farm stand at 20 Nixon Rd. in Framingham.
