UPDATED: Savory and Sweet [IMAGE GALLERY]

From gluten-free crab cakes, to sushi, to pulled pork sandwiches, to a French toast cupcake topped with bacon, there was something for everyone at the 2nd Annual Taste of MetroWest.

More than 1,000 people attended the Taste of MetroWest sponsored by MetroWest Chamber of Commerce at the Tuesday night.

Chamber CEO and President Bonnie Biocchi said more than 500 tickets were sold at the door.

The Verve at Crowne Plaza in Natick won for its pear and mascarpone appetizer (best appetizer) and Violet martini (best beverage).

Best entree went to Pepper's Fine Catering in Northborough for its coffee-crusted turkey tenderloin with roasted root vegetables.

Best dessert went to Frosted Cupcake bakery in Mendon, which served cupcakes, cake pops, truffles and frosting shots.

There was something for everyone.

Longfellow's Wayside Inn of Sudbury was serving the mouth-watering gluten-free crab cakes.

Sue Rubel, owner and cheesemaker of Nobscot Artisan Cheese, offered samples of her latest cheese spreads.

Tomasso Trattoria in Southborough cooked fresh mushroom risotto for those who stopped by their booth.

Marlborough's Fish Restaurant & Wine Bar served a delicate grilled scallop over greens.

The served traditional Shepherd's pie and a puffed pastry filled with turkey.

Pejamajo Cafe, located in Holliston, was serving its signature crepes filled with coconut pastry creme, fresh pineapple and toasted coconut.

There were plenty off drink offerings. Che's Beer & Wine in Ashland was serving a riesling that went well with the sushi offered at Ten-Ichi Dynamic Kitchen & Bar of Natick. It had one of the longest lines of the event.

There were craft brews from of Framingham, vanilla orange seltzer from Polar beverages and a Gosling's Dark n' Stormy, a rum punch and Ginger beer concoction from A Knight of Toasting.

Sweet Alternatives in Natick was offering up its chocolate cake as best dessert, but the Chai salted caramel cake also pleased palates.

The Frosted Cupcake Bakery in Mendon was a popular last stop for many. Besides a traditional red velvet cupcake, there was a samoas cupcake (think Girl Scout cookie), a rosewater flavored cupcake and a French Toast cupcake topped with cooked bacon.
