Performing Arts Center of MetroWest Receives $2,500 Grant

“We are pleased to make the theatre program experience more available to local youngsters,” said MutualOne Foundation President Mark Haranas.

The MutualOne Charitable Foundation has awarded $2,500 to the Performing Arts Center of MetroWest.

The Foundation grant will help provide scholarships for PAC’s educational theatre program, which serves up to 300 youth from ages 8 to 18 each year, providing a range of skills from building scenery to learning dance and drama.

“We are pleased to make the theatre program experience more available to local youngsters,” said Foundation President Mark R. Haranas.

"Thanks to the MutualOne Charitable Foundation, youth who have a desire to participate in the theatre and who would not otherwise have the opportunity due to financial/economic or cultural barriers, will be able to do so at the Performing Arts Center of MetroWest,” said performing Arts Center of MetroWest (PAC) Executive Director Mary Opanasets. “Through the PAC theater program, students are given the chance to express themselves, gain confidence, and have fun in a safe learning environment. We thank the MutualOne Charitable Foundation for this grant which will positively impact so many young people in the wider community."

The $2,500 grant to the Performing Arts Center of MetroWest was among awards totaling $43,725 in the Foundation’s most recent round of funding.

The MutualOne Charitable Foundation is a continuation of the Framingham Co-operative Bank Charitable Foundation following the 2012 merger of Framingham Co-operative Bank and Natick Federal Savings Bank.

Since it was originally established in 1998, the Foundation has donated over $2.7 million to charitable, educational, and civic initiatives that improve and enhance the quality of life in Framingham, Natick and surrounding communities.
