Five Things You Need To Know Today: Feb. 1

Congrats to the Framingham High boys swim team for winning the Bay State Conference and goodbye to another restaurant on Route 9 both featured in today's column.

Our daily column, 5 Things You Need to Know Today, will help you to get your day started and offer you some fodder for water cooler conversation.

1. Congrats to the Framingham High boys swim team who won the Bay State Conference championship.

2. Thursday Congressman Stephen seat vacated by newly named U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry.

3. There is an adult Flamenco class at Edwards Church at 10 a.m. Fee $15.

4. Another restaurant on Route 9 has closed. Oliveira's Steak House has closed. The Brazilian-style steakhouse and buffet restaurant, where waiters strolled about the dining space carrying flanks, ready to slice and carve at a patron's call, a reader tells Patch closed sometime in January. We stopped by this week and it was boarded up.

5. As per the Framingham Patch election guide, each candidate for town-wide office was allowed to submit a political announcement on their candidacy by last week. The town election is Tuesday, April. 9.
