Treasurer Candidate Campaigns at Framingham Brewery

State Rep. Tom Conroy, who represents Saxonville, Wayland, Sudbury and Marlborough, was at Jack's Abby Brewing Saturday campaigning for Massachusetts treasurer.

Over the weekend, State Rep. Tom Conroy (D-Wayland), who represents Framingham in the State House, began campaigning for state treasurer.

Conroy, announced on Thursday, he was running for Massachusetts treasurer. His campaign said he would make visits across the Commonwealth beginning Friday to talk to voters.

One of the stops on Conroy's campaign was to Jack's Abby Brewery in Framingham on Saturday afternoon. He toured the brewery, along with Framingham State Rep. Chris Walsh and owners the Hendler brothers. Afterwards, he chatted with constituents. There were many Framingham faces in the crowd.

Founded in January 2011 by three brothers, Jack's Abby Brewing was awarded the Small Business of the Year Award by the MetroWest Chamber of Commerce in November 2013.

Brothers Jack, Eric and Sam Hendler have grown the business dramatically in less than three years and have won several regional and national awards, along the way.

Last week, the Jack's Abby Brewing open a tasting room.

Conroy, a Democrat, represents Saxonville, Sudbury and parts of Wayland and Marlborough as state representative. Framingham has three state representatives.

The election for Massachusetts treasurer is November 2014, with a primary in September, if necessary.
