Deb Butler Running For Selectman

Butler: "I want to help in any way I can to bring fairness to our town's fiscal affairs."

Deborah Butler Friday filed her nomination papers with the Framingham Town Clerk’s Office on Friday and officially announced her campaign for Selectman.

Butler said she turned in more than 200 nomination signatures - 50 are required to appear on the April 1 ballot. There are two Selectmen seats on the ballot.

“As a newcomer to Town politics I wanted to gauge how my candidacy was received by gathering well above the required 50 signatures," said Butler.

Below is her press release:

Deborah Butler, a tax attorney and Framingham native, considers her run for a seat on the Board of Selectmen as an opportunity to bring meaningful tax relief to residential property taxpayers so what happened in 2012 won’t happen again.

“I have first-hand knowledge about the plight of vulnerable residents who live paycheck to paycheck, worry about their economic future and struggle to pay property taxes in Framingham. I want to help in any way I can to bring fairness to our town’s fiscal affairs.”
