Despite the rain, Framingham had a strong showing at the Sudbury Independence Day parade on Friday afternoon.

Brian LeFort, a candidate for state representative in the 13th Middlesex District, which represents Precinct 3 in Framingham (Saxonville), Sudbury, Wayland, and parts of Marlborough, marched in the parade.

He was supported by Framingham State Rep. Chris Walsh and several members of the Framingham Town Democratic Committee - Mel Warshaw, Joan Rastani, Stephanie Mercandetti, and Norma Shulman.

The primary election for the 13th Middlesex District race is in September.

Rep. Thomas Conroy, who currently holds the seat, is running for state treasurer. Conroy has held the seat since 2007, although it was reconfigured a couple of years ago to include Framingham and Marlborough.

Brian Lefort will be a fantastic Rep for Framingham and all of the surrounding communities! Having served with him on Town Meeting for several years, I know that he is thoughtful, intelligent and hard working! Great qualities, great candidate.
