It's All About the Arts at the Ashland Farmers' Market, August 24

This Saturday, August
24, 9 to 1 p.m., the Ashland Farmers’ Market celebrates a thriving local arts
community.



 



Watch Ashland potter Deb
Griffin demonstrate decorating and finishing techniques on her functional
high-fire stoneware pottery. Listen to self-taught Ashland artist Cliff Wilson talk
about the historical buildings he selects to paint. Enjoy the display of art pieces
brought by Suzie Meeker, teacher of watercolor classes at the Ashland Senior
Center as well as creative art classes for children. Marvel at the details
botanical artist Carol Govan captures as she records nature on paper. Works by
all these artists will be available for purchase. Find out what’s new at

Get into the picture
yourself at Patrick Rogers’ photography booth. Then try your own hand at making
a community mural about healthy living at the Kid’s Corner, for both adults and
children.

At the Old North Music
Stage, listen to singer/songwriter Sarah Levecque from 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m..
Relax at the picnic table with a new vegetable curry lunch from Mohammed’s Kabob
House, Lulu’s lemonade or the yogurt-based drink, mango lassi from Seasoned and
Spiced.  



 



Students seeking
community service hours are invited to help set up, clean up and take on other
responsibilities at the market on Saturday mornings. To volunteer to help, email

Looking for a unique gift for the person who has
everything? Treat them to healthy food with a Gift Certificate for the Ashland
Farmers’ Market. Gift Certificates are now available in any amount at the
Market Managers’ tent.



 



Customers with SNAP Food Stamp benefits will receive a
match of up to $20 per person each week they shop at Ashland Farmers Market.
That means that weekly SNAP shoppers can spend an additional $80 a month on
fruits and vegetables, breads, meat, poultry, fish, eggs and cheese. Just come
to the Market Managers’ tent with your SNAP card. To find out how to apply for

Ashland Farmers Market
is a fun family destination at 125 Front Street, across from the Library, each
Saturday 9-1 thru October 19. Shop more than 25 tents of farmers, bakers,
