Spring Health Fair

This year at our Annual Spring Health Fair, in addition to the
Health Screenings we routinely offer, we will have
Health Presentations on Oral and Spinal Health, and ‘Review of the most essential Immunizations’ for people over 60.

Representatives from local businesses and non-profit
organizations who will be providing health education and information about the health services that they offer. Don’t forget to be on the lookout for Give-a-Ways at each table. They can make a health fair so much fun!

Pre-registration will occur during the week of the fair, on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, (April 22 -April 24) from 11 a.m.  - 1 p.m. Look for a table, staffed by our volunteers in the lobby.

Lunch will be provided for all who pre-register.

Registration will also occur on the day of the fair, from 9 a.m. -10 a.m.

However, if you register on the day of the fair, lunch cannot be guaranteed.

We will have nursing students from Mass Bay Community College and Framingham State University again this year.  The students will be offering health presentations and blood pressures as well as assisting staff, supporting the screeners and providing help to attendees as you move
from one event to another.

Please visit the BayPath table where they will be featuring a Chronic Disease Management program.

The Framingham Board of
Health will provide shingles Vaccinations to eligible residents (while supply lasts) at the Board of Health Booth from 10 a.m. – 12 p.m. If you had the Chicken Pox as a child, you are at risk for developing shingles; a painful skinrash. The pain from shingles can be mild to very severe. You should NOTget the shingles vaccine if you have a weak immune system or are taking high doses of steroids, currently receiving cancer treatment (radiation or chemotherapy) or have cancer affecting the bone, marrow or lymphatic system (such as leukemia). If you are not sure
whether you are eligible or should get the vaccine, please contact your doctor or call the Board of Health nurse Kitty Mahoney at 508-532-5472.

Our health fair is always a good opportunity to review your own health needs, try a new
health screening, attend a presentation and enjoy the company of
others.   See you at the Fair!
