Framingham MutualOne Charitable Foundation Helps Ashland STEM Program

The $2,000 grant to the Ashland Education Foundation, Inc. was among awards totaling $63,385 made by the Foundation in its most recent round of funding.

A $2,000 grant from the Framingham-based MutualOne Charitable Foundation will help the Ashland Education Foundation Inc. purchase the remaining four laptops needed for the new Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) lab at the Ashland Middle School.

The lab is part of the core curriculum for every student at the school.

“The STEM lab provides hands-on experience in areas that today’s students will need for future success,” said Mark R. Haranas, president and CEO of MutualOne Bank and a trustee of the MutualOneCharitable Foundation. “We are happy to help prepare the youth of our community for their role as tomorrow’s leaders.”

The MutualOne Charitable Foundation is a continuation of the Framingham Co-operative Bank Charitable Foundation following the 2012 merger of Framingham Co-operative Bank and Natick Federal Savings Bank.

Since it was originally established in 1998, the Foundation has donated over $2.3 million to charitable, educational, and civic initiatives that improve and enhance the quality of life in Framingham, Natick, and surrounding communities.
