GoFundMe Helps Framingham Family Pay For Funeral For Man, 21, Fatally Shot

In less than three weeks, 55 people donated to help a Framingham family bury a man, 21, who was shot and killed in November.

Last month, Juan Lopez, 21, was shot and killed in Framingham.

His family was struggling coming up with money for his funeral and they turned to GoFundme.com

They needed to raise $1,500. And with the help of GoFundMe.com they raised $1,945 in 19 days, with donations by 55 people.

"This young man was shot and killed after giving his friend a ride late at night," reads the GoFundme.com request. "He was one of the nicest kids I've ever met. Never did anything wrong, he was a very special kid. He was with the love of his life for more than 3 years and the night this happened he was with her also."

"It all happened in front of her eyes," wrote Josh Martino on GoFundme.com. "I want to raise money for his funeral funds cause his family shouldn't have to spend so much money after losing someone special..."
