Pheasant Hill Neighbors Start Fund to Help Family After House Fire

The Pheasant Hill Civic Association has established a GoFundme.com account to raise $50,000 to help the Park family, who lost their home of more than 20 years in a fire on November 30.

The Pheasant Hill neighborhood of Framingham is a close knit group of 300 homeowners.

Last week, the Park family's house caught fire; and while thankfully everyone escaped from the fire unharmed, the family watched their home for more than 20 years, where they raised four sons, and all their possessions burn.

The Pheasant Hill Civic Association rallied to help the Park family immediately.

Hiroko and Hiro Park and their two sons spent the night with their neighbors across the street, George and Evelia Diamantopoulos, until they could make other temporary living arrangements.

Other neighbors offered clothing and necessities. Afterwards, the more than 300 homeowners began to offer the family their expertise.

"Since Pheasant Hill Civic Association sent out a note on Sunday asking for people who can help with their expertise in insurance, real estate law and construction, we've had a great response. People reaching out with offers ranging from expertise, clothing to even a place to live temporarily. You should be proud to live in a neighborhood where so many people step-up to help others," states an email to association members and shared with Framingham Patch.

"Some folks don't know the Park family personally but can imagine the difficulty they are going through and just want to extend a hand to help out. ... Many people have asked about helping out in a more material way, so the Park's neighbors and friends have created a fund to help give them support as we come into the Holiday Season and into the New Year. While memories, photographs and other personal items can't be replaced, your contribution will help get them back to where they were before the fire," continues the email to association members.

The Association has set a goal is to raise $50,000. Framingham residents are welcome to contribute as well to the GoFundme account.
