Framingham Resident Receives Awards From UMass Lowell

The Framingham resident received the Professor Carl A. Stevens Award for High Academic Achievement from the Francis College of Engineering from UMass Lowell.

Denis Lemos of Framingham and a member of UMass Lowell's Class of 2014 was recognized at the university's Commencement ceremonies.

Lemos, who earned a bachelor's degree in computer engineering, received the Dean's Gold Medal for Highest Achievement in Electrical and Computer Engineering and the Professor Carl A. Stevens Award for High Academic Achievement from the Francis College of Engineering.

UMass Lowell's Commencement ceremonies honoring the 3,478 members of the Class of 2014 were held May 17 at the Tsongas Center at UMass Lowell.

For the seventh year in a row, a record number received diplomas. 

Commencement speakers included Bill Nye "the Science Guy" and Howard Koh, assistant secretary for health of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.
