MutualOne Charitable Foundation Awards $30,000 to TCAN Expansion Plans

The MutualOne Charitable Foundation, based in Framingham, has pledged $30,000 over three years to a capital campaign underway by The Center for the Arts in Natick (TCAN) to expand performance space through the renovation and restoration of the second floor of its Summer Street location. 

Founded in 1997, TCAN is located in Natick’s historic 1875 Central Fire House, which the group purchased in 2002. The refurbished second floor will feature a performance hall that can be configured for film screenings, music or theater performances, cabaret style events, and a variety of other functions.

“There is no question that TCAN has added — and continues to add — to the vibrancy of the entire community,” said Mark R. Haranas, president and CEO of MutualOne Bank. “It provides great opportunities for everyone to experience, participate in, and learn about the arts, and the MutualOne Foundation is pleased to support TCAN’s plans to expand those opportunities even further.”

The MutualOne Charitable Foundation is a continuation of the Framingham Co-operative Bank Charitable Foundation following the 2012 merger of Framingham Co-operative Bank and Natick Federal Savings Bank.

Since it was originally established in 1998, the Foundation has donated over $2.3 million to charitable, educational, and civic initiatives that improve and enhance the quality of life in Framingham, Natick, and surrounding communities.
