MutualOne Foundation Grants $1,500 to Program for Autistic Students

The MutualOne Charitable Foundation, based in Framingham, awarded a grant to the RCS Learning Center, to support the school's "Let's Get to Work Vocational Program."

The MutualOne Charitable Foundation awarded $1,500 to the RCS Learning Center in Natick, to support the school’s “Let’s Get to Work Vocational Program.”

The Center is a private nonprofit day school for children ages 3-22 with Autism Spectrum Disorder and other developmental disabilities.

According to Executive Director Denise Rizzo, the Vocational Program provides students ages 14 and older the opportunity to explore and develop vocational competencies, independence, and job-related skills to facilitate a successful transition to meaningful post-secondary employment.

“The vision of RCS is that every child has unique skills, and we are dedicated to help each child with autism spectrum and other developmental disabilities develop those skills and reach their potential,” said Rizzo.

The $1,500 grant to the RCS Learning Center was among awards totaling $45,000 made by the Foundation in its most recent round of funding.

The MutualOne Charitable Foundation is a continuation of the Framingham Co-operative Bank Charitable Foundation following the 2012 merger of Framingham Co-operative Bank and Natick Federal Savings Bank.

Since it was originally established in 1998, the Foundation has donated over $2.3 million to charitable, educational, and civic initiatives that improve and enhance the quality of life in Framingham, Natick, and surrounding communities.
