20 Labor Organizations Supporting Karen Spilka

UTILITY WORKERS LOCAL 369 ENDORSES KAREN SPILKA FOR CONGRESS

Becomes 20th Labor Organization Backing Karen Spilka

UWUA Local 369 has announced its endorsement of Karen Spilka, becoming the 20th labor organization to back her bid for Congress in Massachusetts' Fifth District. Representing over 3,300 workers in the utility industry, Local 369 members work at generation facilities, global energy conglomerates and local utility, construction and communication companies.

“Our workers do dangerous jobs and it is vital to us that we have a representative in Congress who has our backs,” said Executive Vice President Dan Leary. “Karen is someone who always looks out for working families and we can always count on her to fight to keep our workplaces as safe as possible. She is on our side and we know she will be a great voice for us in Washington.”

“It means a great deal to me to be supported by such a wide array of labor unions here in Massachusetts. The men and women of Local 369 work in tough, critical jobs and I am honored to have their endorsement,” stated Karen. “I am running for Congress to continue fighting for middle class families that are too often sidelined by the special interests in Washington. Instead of protecting tax cuts for millionaires and tax subsidies for big oil companies, we should be investing in our infrastructure. I will lead the fight to update our electrical grid to make it safer and more reliable."
