LETTER: 'Example of How Town Can Grow' While Maintaining The Neighborhood's Character

Framingham Planning Board is expected to vote on the proposed CVS at the intersection of Concord and Hartford streets on Thursday.

As I am uncertain as to whether I will be able to attend tomorrow night’s Planning Board meeting, I would like at this time to express my support for the proposed CVS on Concord St.

Having followed the proceedings and reading postings and letters about the project, it is clear to me that the proposal as it stands is an example of how the town and a corporation can work together to find a solution that benefits both the company and the Town of Framingham.

The Framingham Planning Board has worked tirelessly to make adjustments to the original proposal. The neighborhood’s concerns have been listened to and addressed, with accommodations for the plans for the building structure and traffic mitigation. The current plan is solid.

We all know that traffic has and will continue to be an issue on Concord St. I am hopeful that the plans in the works for Downtown Framingham to coordinate the lights along the street will ease some of the congestion, and I am also pleased that CVS will be working to improve the flow of traffic at their intersection.

This is an example of how our Town can grow while keeping the best interests of its citizens in mind, and while maintaining the character of the surrounding neighborhood. I applaud the work that has been done.
