Many people have said to me over the years, “Bigger kids, bigger problems.” I would nod my head but not really agree when I had three boys age three and under all in diapers and my singular goal was to keep them (and myself) alive that day.
“How in God’s name could it be HARDER than it is right now?” I would think to myself. It was like herding cats! Well, I slowly understood what they meant. It’s not harder, just different.
Parenting young kids is exhausting and tough but straightforward. You keep them alive, fed, clean and clothed. You’re supposed to be the mature one in the power struggles over food and learn to recognize a meltdown as a child who probably needs a nap.
