Former Town Meeting Member William Yacus, 87, Has Died

Services at Norton Funeral Home on Monday, Aug. 26.

Former Framingham Town Meeting member William B. Yacus, 87, of Chelsea, died, Monday, August 19, 2013 at the East Pointe Rehabilitation Center in Chelsea.

He was the husband of the late Mary E. (Shay) Yacus.

Born in Newark, NJ, he was the son of the late Constantine and Anna (Furda) Yacus.

During World War II, Yacus served in the U.S. navy.

Yacus was an Engineering Manager who formerly worked  General Motors, General Electric, Bose, MBTA and the N.E. Metallurgical Company.

He was a Corporator of the Framingham Union Hospital, a member of the Jaycees of Framingham and the former Regional Manager for March of Dimes.

He is survived by his siblings, Joseph Yacus of Chelsea and Mary Mills of Corning, CA. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a time of visitation on Monday, Aug. 26, at the Norton Funeral Home, 53 Beech St., Framingham from 10 to 11 a.m. with burial to follow at St. Stephens Cemetery, Framingham.

In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy in his memory may be made to March of Dimes National Office, Attn: DRFR, 1275 Mamaroneck Avenue, White Plains, NY 10605.
