Funeral Saturday for Janice Helen (Evans) Johnson, 65

She was the wife of 42 years to Carl C. Johnson of Grafton and was married on October 23, 1971 at St. Andrews Episcopal Church in Framingham

Born and raised in Framingham on September 14, 1948, she was the daughter of the late Edward J. and Jeanette E. (Powell) Evans.

Johnson graduated from Framingham South High School and started her civil service career at the Natick labs and worked for 34 years as an Administrative Assistant for the Federal Government. While working at Natick Labs, she met her husband who was in the US Army stationed at Natick Labs.

She lived in Germany, North Carolina and New Mexico before retiring from civil service in 2004 and settling in Grafton. She obtained numerous awards for outstanding service and employee of the quarter at the Defense Threat Reduction Agency in Albuquerque, NM. Janice enjoyed knitting, reading, traveling, shopping and spending time at the beach.

Besides her husband Carl, she is survived by her daughter, Francine Marie Johnson of Methuen, her brother Arnold T. Evans and his wife Deborah of Milford, sister-in-law, Roberta Westermeier of Spring, TX and two nieces and two nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a time of visitation on Saturday, Nov. 16, at the Norton Funeral Home, from 9-10 a.m. followed by her funeral service on at 10:30 a.m. in St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church. Burial will follow at Edgell Grove Cemetery, Framingham.
