Funeral Thursday for Louis J. Tredeau, 61

Louis J. Tredeau, 61, of Milford , died unexpectedly February 12, 2014 at Milford Regional Hospital after a brief illness. He was the beloved husband of Wendy M. (Burns) Tredeau. 

Born in Milford, he was the son of the late Charles A. and the late Yolanda F. (Tumolo) Tredeau. He attended the former St. Mary’s Grammar School and was a graduate of the former St. Mary’s Central Catholic High School, Class of 1970. He was also a graduate of UMASS-Amherst, Class of 1974. He later attained his Masters in Education from Worcester State College in 1986. 

Tredeau began his career in education as an English teacher at Marian High School in Framingham, where he has worked for the past 36 years. Along with teaching English, he eventually became a guidance counselor and later became Director of Guidance at Marian High School. 

He was always an avid sportsman and had served as the girls varsity softball coach at Marian High School for 12 years, retiring from that position in 2012.

In 2005 he was the proud recipient of the Boston Globe's Softball Coach of the Year Award for all of eastern Massachusetts. He was also a member of the Central Mass Baseball Umpires Association for the past twelve years, umpiring in the Framingham, Natick & Milford area. 

Tredeau had also been a longtime volunteer as a coach for the Milford Little League and Babe Ruth Baseball Associations. He had also volunteered as a coach for the Milford Girls Softball Association. 

He was a lifelong resident of Milford and a longtime communicant of St. Mary of the Assumption Church. He was also a member of the Archdiocese of Boston Teachers Association. 

Along with his beloved wife of 39 years, he is survived by his Son: James Thomas Tredeau and his longtime partner Keith Suchodolski of North Grafton MA; his Daughter: Lauren Michelle, wife of Ronny Rojas of Marlborough MA; his 4 Siblings: Harris Tredeau and his wife Mary Jane of Dennis MA, Robert Tredeau and his wife Judy of Upton MA, Charlotte, wife of John Taddei of Milford MA and Charles Tredeau Jr. of Ventura CA; also several nieces, nephews and cousins. He is also survived by his beloved dog Zechy Boy. 

His funeral will be held Thursday, Feb. 20 at 9 a.m. from the Edwards Memorial Funeral Home, 44 Congress Street, Milford  followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Mary of the Assumption Church, 19 Winter Street, Milford MA. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery in Milford.
