Chinese Folk Arts performance at main library at noon featured in today's column.

1. The main Framingham Library will host Taiwan Sublime: A Performance of Chinese Folk Arts at noon today. The free performance may include traditional Chinese folk arts such as Dragon Dance, Lion Dance, Taiwanese Drums, Chinese yoyo and Folk Dance. The workshop aims to promote interaction with and understanding of Chinese culture. This performance is offered in collaboration with Framingham Public Library and sponsored by the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Boston. A reception will follow the performance.

2. A . a Framingham Police Officer for 38 years, who retired in 1992. He is probably best remembered as "Sgt. Foley" by three generations of Framingham school children.

3. Next Wednesday and Thursday, the Performing Arts Center of MetroWest will hold auditions for its spring musical FAME. Students in grades 7-12 are asked to bring a head shot, resume and prepare either one 32-bar excerpt of a song or two 16-bar excerpts of two different songs.
