Bullying in our School System in Framingham, MA

Tara Alves

Framingham,  MA

This article reinforces that what ever the school anti- bullying Program is in place it is clearly not working and it is not enough to remedy our kids welfare and safety.  And that these Administrators should look into bringing in a Natick,  MA Spark Kindness, Anti-Bullying and Resilience group.  We do not put enough emphasis on the welfare of our childrens emotional and psychological( distress) wellfare  And I know from experience because I moved my child out of a school that did not resolve any bullying issues for over 7 months with help from the Anti-Defemation Legue of Boston and my child's Doctor making a phone call to the Principal as well as bringing a different friend every time to a meeting with them and a Psychologist talking with the school from Southboro, MA.  I got my child out of the school.  I could not help but wonder how many other kids were in the same boat. And Families were being hurt and effected by the inactions and lack of resources.  It was troubleing.

Once in the new school the Principal greeted our family by telling us she had heard about us from the previous school Principal and was not welcomeing. So our child was bullied by a new kid for a year and carried over to November till the Bully moved away.  But it was all documented in a  book I write things in which I strongly suggest to any parent.  It may come in handy or to a child who's getting bullied, too.  Email your Superintendent that's my advise as well if the Principal is less than willing.  Some believe that Bullying is a rite of Passage which I strongly disagree!
