Dear Framingham Patch readers,
I am writing this letter in strong support of the teachers that provide such an outstanding education for our elementary, middle and high school children. I would easily argue that the teachers in Framingham go above and beyond the call of duty on a daily basis. Not only are our teachers shaping the characters of our children by modeling respect, kindness, creativity, organization, and fun – to name a few, they are sharing their talents and expertise to enhance their learning experience.
In my experience as a parent of two children (one in 4th and one in 7th grade currently), I have seen the incredible dedication of their teachers on many levels. I have seen teachers attend Middle School events for children they taught in 1st grade. Children have had the opportunity to participate in a drama program (for 125 children this year) that was created, supervised and produced by dedicated, energetic, and very creative teachers. I know that teachers supplement the supplies in the classroom because their budgets are so limited. Sets were built and designed, actors supported and guided, costumes created and music provided for an incredible performance of Beauty and the Beast. I see the amazing gifts that my children receive every day from each and every one of their teachers.
I believe that our teachers ARE the foundation of the society that we are creating with our children. They deserve to be valued, respected, supported (including financially) and honored for the amazing work that they do with and for our children.
