Meaningful Tax Relief for Framingham Residential Taxpayers

On Friday, February 14th a Citizens' Petition (Deborah Butler - Sponsor) was filed with the Board of Selectmen.  The Warrant Article seeks to secure a vote from Town Meeting to "address previously recognized issues concerning assessing practices."  The following statement sets forth the problem the Article addresses:

"The Town’s failure to adopt the best “assessment” practices recommended in the September 2012 Matrix Consulting Group report as well as the Town’s continuing failure to comply with the requests for documentation by the Matrix Consulting Group and the Assessment Review Committee have arguably resulted in millions in lost revenue, unfair tax assessments and erosion of the public trust."
