UPDATED: Construction Worker Falls 20 Feet at Framingham State University

The construction worker was taken to a Boston hospital, with serious injuries, via a medical helicopter.

A construction worker sustained serious injuries Wednesday, when he fell 20 feet from a construction project on the campus of Framingham State University.

The man, who is employed by Barr & Barr, a general contractor in Framingham, fell just after 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 23. He was flown to a Boston hospital by medical helicopter, according to a University spokesperson.

Barr & Barr was hired to make science and academic updates at Hemenway Hall, on the campus of the university.

"The project consists of a four-story addition, plus basement and an enclosed penthouse, that will house 16 teaching laboratories, including related prep and supply spaces, plus faculty research spaces, joined to the existing facility by a four-story atrium space. Selective interior renovations in the existing Hemenway Hall and the Annex will provide a fully accessible, substantially improved teaching environment. The facades of Hemenway Hall will receive repairs and improvements, including new windows," according to Barr & Barr's website.

His injuries are unknown. Framingham Patch will update when we have more information.
