Construction Worker, Who Fell at Framingham State, Has Died

The man fell from a construction site on the campus of Framingham State University on Wednesday morning.

The construction worker, who fell Wednesday while working on a project for Barr & Barr at Framingham State University, has died.

"I am deeply saddened to report that a construction worker has succumbed to injuries sustained in an accident that occurred at the Hemenway Hall science building construction site on Wednesday. This tragic event is currently being investigated by the Massachusetts State Police, OSHA and the Department of Public Safety," said a statement that went to University employees this morning, July 24.

The man, who has not identified, fell about 20 feet while working at the University construction site on campus, and was flown by medical helicopter to Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston.

The man was a subcontractor hired by Barr & Barr, the contractor for the Framingham State project.

Barr & Barr was hired to make science and academic updates at Hemenway Hall, on the campus of the university.
