A 48-year-old Framingham man was critically injured Thursday morning after his minivan struck a large boulder on Route 140 in Milford, near the Hopedale line.

The man was taken by ambulance to Milford Regional Medical Center, and was expected to be life-flighted to a trauma hospital, according to police.

He had a weak pulse when officers arrived and was not responsive, said Officer Paul Moffi. Hopedale Police were the first on the scene. The crash is just a few feet from the town line.

The crash will be investigated by the Central Massachusetts Accident Reconstruction Team. According to Moffi, an initial investigation indicated there were no tire marks. The man may have had a medical emergency while driving, he said.

No one else was in the Honda minivan at the time. The identity of the driver was not released by police, but Moffi said he does not live in Milford.
