A woman who police say was responsible for a fatal crash involving an ambulance will be charged with motor vehicle homicide by negligent operation, according to the Worcester County District Attorney's Office.

Lisa Zemack, 61, of 19 Bonvini Dr., Framingham, also will be charged with operating to endanger, according to Paul Jarvey, a spokesman for the District Attorney's Office.

Zemack could not be reached Wednesday afternoon for comment.

The crash killed a 58-year-old Upton woman who was being transported in the ambulance, operated by Community EMS of Marlborough. Two paramedics on the ambulance were not seriously injured, police said.

According to Milford Police, Zemack was driving a Mercedes sedan and failed to stop at a stop sign on Green Street, where it meets Rte. 140. The ambulance was heading north on Route 140, toward Milford Regional Medical Center.

The impact forced the ambulance into a rollover. It came to rest on a guard rail.

According to Jarvey, both of the charges will be issued by Milford Police and are misdemeanors. An arraignment hearing will be scheduled in Milford District Court.
