Framingham has named Deputy Police Chief Ken Ferguson its acting police chief.

Framingham has named Deputy Police Chief Ken Ferguson its acting police chief.

Current Framingham Police Chief Steven Carl, 54, is leaving Framingham to become the director of public safety and chief of police at Assumption College.

Last week, Halpin told Selectmen either deputy police chief Ferguson or Steve Trask were qualified to be acting chief.

"I will say at this point that Framingham is fortunate to have two very talented deputies within the Department and I feel each has the leadership and vision to be the Chief of Police," said Halpin.
