Former FSU Police Officer Stabbed With Spear

A former Framingham State University Police Officer, now working for Northbridge Police, was stabbed with a double-bladed spear following a car chase that began in Milford Friday morning.

Northbridge Police Officer Thomas Dejordy, responding to Milford Police's request to stop a blue 2003 Jaguar, spotted the vehicle and followed it to High Street and the home of Adam Tillison, 27, of Whittinsville.

Police said Tillison, the driver, jumped out of the Jaguar, and ran inside.

Police said Tillison then grabbed a spear and attacked Dejordy, as he made his way to the top of the stairs.

The spear penetrated Dejordy’s protective vest. The officer suffered a stab wound to the abdomen, just below the ribs.

Despite his injuries, he managed to tackle Tillson and handcuff him.

Dejordy was taken to and since released from a local hospital.

The incident began when Milford patrol officer Michael Kehoe observed a dark Jaguar traveling west on Main Street.

The same vehicle had been observed the previous night by another officer, who had informed Kehoe that the vehicle had a revoked license plate, due to insurance cancellation. He also told Kehoe that the driver had an active warrant for his arrest. Kehoe turned his cruiser around on Main Street, confirmed the license plate was revoked and initiated a motor vehicle stop. He was assisted by Police Sgt. Ken Kingkade, who was working on a detail nearby.

"I approached the vehicle and observed a white adult male. The male then put his head down, looking in his lap. I asked the operator to get out of his car. The male looked up at me and stated "nope," put the car in gear and took off at a high rate of speed. The operator drove around Sgt. Kingkade and headed west on Main Street, heading toward the town of Hopedale."

The Jaguar did not stop at the red light on Route 16 at Route 140, and at that point, Kehoe lost sight of it.

Tillison was to be arraigned Friday on 14 charges:

• Fail to Stop for Police
• Speeding (70 mph in a 30 mph zone)
• Reckless Operation of a Motor Vehicle
• Fail to Stop for Red Light
• Operate Motor Vehicle with a Suspended License
• Uninsured Motor Vehicle
• Operator Motor Vehicle with a Revoked Registration
• Disorderly Conduct
• Resist Arrest
• A&B with a Dangerous Weapon (double bladed spearhead)
• Assault to Murder
• Attempted Murder
• Possess Dangerous Weapon (double bladed spear)
• Default Warrant out of Uxbridge Court (original charge unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle)
