Can the dog sniff out illegal aliens? Jim@ccfiile.com
J. K. Rastani December 30, 2011 at 03:07 PM
Someone asked if the dog could sniff out illegal aliens. I wonder if it could also sniff out those who harrass them, as well.
Jim Rizoli December 30, 2011 at 03:44 PM
J.K.......define harass? I see a big problem I make it know and you think that is harassment? Hmmm...I speak out against illegal activity and you consider that harassment. Actually pretty sad....but it does show that people in town have their priorities mixed up.
Chet Atkins December 30, 2011 at 03:45 PM
I visit this site regularly, but have never posted a comment before. Some timeback I saw where the editor stated she would banish this poster if he continued to make offensive or unrelated remarks about immigrants to this country. Thus far she has not acted. Why not? I've seen numerous other commenters leave the site stating they were sick and tired of hearing the same taunts from the same person. Why can't we shed the one for the benefit of the many?
Jim Rizoli December 30, 2011 at 03:56 PM
Chet.....It's called free speech! As long as I play by the rules and not abuse people why would you have a problem with that. If you don't like the message....so don't read it. I find your attitude repulsive but I don't ask to have you banned. Time to grow up and be a man...not a panzy. Jim@ccfiile.com
Chet Atkins December 30, 2011 at 04:22 PM
Your insinuation that immigrants "smell" different is repulsive. Free speech does not protect the right to publish hate. You have been admonished publicly on this board and elsewhere. Unless action is taken by the site editor, then the threat to banish was empty.
Susan Petroni (Editor) December 30, 2011 at 04:23 PM
@Chet - Thanks for commenting. As I have said repeatedly, if everyone who lurked and didn't comment, made a comment on the site daily - the opinions of 2 would not seem that important. Please feel free to comment often! Immigration comments are allowed on Patch, but must relate to the topic. I would allow immigration to be discussed about the police department. But seriously do we think that a dog can sniff out an "illegal alien: -- it would be like asking it to sniff out "an Irish gal, with red highlights, who married an Italian" IMO, it is best to ignore some thoughts -- sort of like when my daughter suggests that there should be a button in the car so I can fly over the traffic to get her to her location quicker -- it's a suggestion but not a useful one. As I have said before, I have banned a couple of people from Framingham Patch. The two you are questioning have been warned at times, but are also elected officials in town; and once warned have agreed to follow the rules. If you find their comments inappropriate you have the right to mark them as such - that everyone's right as part of the Patch policy. If enough individuals mark a comment as inappropriate, it is hidden from the site. I can't be monitoring comments 24-hours a day, 365 days a year; so the marking system works as a monitoring system. I can always review a hidden post and unhide it, if individuals are just marking every comment by a user as inappropriate.
Jim Rizoli December 30, 2011 at 04:30 PM
Sue.....The problem here are the lurkers....they should comment more. In regards to marking comments....that should be done if the comment is not following the rules not because you don't agree with it. If that becomes the case here the whole site will be people marking comments. If this is what Framingham wants to become so be it....you now prove the Rizoli's right in their assessment of the town and the majority of it people. I guess U.N. Article 19 will don't be applied here. Pretty sad... Jim@ccfiile.com
Jim Rizoli December 30, 2011 at 04:34 PM
Chet....I didn't insinuate anything about the smell of illegal aliens YOU did. I could of said Italians.....would that of changed your mind? Having olive oil in my veins would make me an easy person for them to follow. Jim@ccfiile.com
Jim Rizoli December 30, 2011 at 04:46 PM
Chet...do you hate Italians? Jim@ccfiile.com
Karl Rookey December 30, 2011 at 06:21 PM
Chet, I have to disagree with your statement "free speech does not protect the right to publish hate". Freedom of speech does and should protect the right to say or publish just about anything unless it results in immediate violence or documents that the "speaker" has broken a law (in which case the crime, not the statement, leads to arrest). The real issue is Patch editorial guidelines for the comment section. Since Patch is the publisher, Patch decides what those guidelines are, whether they have been broken, and what the consequence for breaking them should be. If Patch bans someone it is not an issue of free speech but of editorial policy. I think we all know that Jim was not seriously asking if the dog can smell illegal aliens: he was joking and make a political statement about police policies he disagrees with. The statement may not be funny to you (or me), and it may be almost off topic because of its context, but it is still covered by free speech (and, it seems, Patch editorial policy).
Jim Rizoli December 31, 2011 at 01:23 AM
Karl.....the comment I made was just as you stated....but I guess some people can't take my humor. To think that this comment is somewhat tied into Hate, is a bit of a stretch. I think what makes this problematic... is the fact that people will turn any criticisms of illegals into a "hate" issue. People say a lot of nasty things about me but I don't turn it into a hate issue, even though it could well be. Hate becomes an issue when physical harm is being done to someone personally or the one making the statement is telling others to harm someone. I've never harmed anyone, but some have manhandled me in the past, and to make matters even worse...the police have turned a blind eye to it all. Enough said for "To Serve and Protect". Jim@ccfiile.com
Seth Learner December 31, 2011 at 02:11 PM
Rizoli was "manhandled" by a Jewish guy in his 70s. The guy signed Rizoli's Town Meeting nomination papers before learning who Rizoli was. When he found out it was Rizoli, the infamous Jew hater, he asked that his name be removed from the list. Instead of simply crossing the guys name off, Rizoli called the police on the old guy. So now we're supposed to take Rizoli's comment about immigrants smelling to be a "joke". We're suppposed to "ignore some thoughts". I don't think so. This man has been identified as the leader of a hate group. This man is on record as a holocaust denier. He says Israel was behind 9/11. I'm not cutting Rizoli any slack. With that track record, Why should I? Jim Rizoli should be banished from posting on this site. We're all tired of his hateful messages.
Jim Rizoli December 31, 2011 at 05:55 PM
Seth Nice to see you have the whole story wrong as usual. Would you like to read the police report? The man was taken to court and give a 6 month suspended sentence to stay away from me. Sure it was a slap in the wrist but he did attack me. If I did this to him I would be in jail. There were three witnesses to the event. in fact one of the witnesses came to my rescue and called the police. The attacker even admitted to the police he attacked me, but wasn't arrested, as he should of been for the assault. People shouldn't touch other people when they disagree with them PERIOD! He threw me around like a piece of paper. He was a big guy and meant business. It's called an assault when it's done without your permission. When a person admits his guilt to the police usually they are arrested on the spot. But the Framingham police are not too keen in doing their job when it comes to the Rizoli's. In regards to my other views in life...it's called free speech. Sorry you don't like it. I don't apologize for any of my views. I don't need you to cut me any slack, but would appreciate you not to misrepresent the truth. I will send you a copy of the police report if your interested. It pretty much backs me up 100%. Jim@ccfiile.com
Seth Learner December 31, 2011 at 06:41 PM
how old was he? when's the last time somebody his age was charged with assault? why didn't you just cross his name off when he asked you to? why do you question the holocaust? do you question the number of people killed in rwanda? the issue here is you going off topic with hurtful comments. can the police dogs sniff out illegal aliens? like the immigrants don't bathe? like they are a lesser species? what else than an insult can this be interpreted as? the editor has lost control of this board and should resign.
Brenda Crawshaw December 31, 2011 at 07:29 PM
Seth, as much as I agree with you that the methodologies the wonder twins use to perpetuate their ideologies is at time abhorrent, sadly they do have the right to express their opinions in public. However, if you can grit your teeth against their repetitious, unvarying rhetoric you will see that they have incited others to be more outspoken against their brand of nastiness. And certainly they have opened doors to plenty of opportunities for increased civic engagement here on the Patch. Just like in the animal kingdom everything from the cockroaches to the humans serve a purpose.............so do the participants on the Patch.
Susan Petroni (Editor) December 31, 2011 at 08:07 PM
I would like to say that most of you have completely gone off topic. ... the article was about a wonderful foundation in Framingham that has awarded the police department $10,000 to fund a new K-9 unit.... if you wish to debate those who comment on the site I suggest you post here .... http://framingham.patch.com/articles/dont-let-jim-and-joe-be-your-voice As I have repeatedly said if everyone who reads the articles comments - the posting of two Town Meeting members would be just that 2 of many .... Seth as a first-time poster today - perhaps you should get involved in Town Politics and run against either Rizoli for Town Meeting? What precinct do you live in? I don't see you name on the town census.
Jim Rizoli December 31, 2011 at 08:27 PM
Seth, as stated you're way off topic.... The police report tells the whole story if you want to hear the truth. If you want to discuss this further here's my email below. If you do plan to get involved in town meeting showing up to all the meetings and being on a committee would be nice. I might say it does take up a lot of time though. To try to bump a person off town meeting that has 100% attendance and contributes by attending committee meetings, wouldn't be a nice thing to do. It would actually show a malicious, vindictive spirit. I'm sure the plan is in the works to do just that, but in the end the town loses because people won't really show up and care in the long run. I care that's why I'm there. Sue...my bets Seth doesn't even live in the town, just here to cause trouble. As it is.... he doesn't even have the facts on my assault case., and continues to slander me here. He thinks 70 yr old men are incapable of committing assaults. The police report will show different. Interesting the comparison of us to cockroaches....someone else would say that is a mean spirited analogy but I look at it as a compliment as cockroaches as small as they are get the job done. Too bad we couldn't turn more people into them. Jim@ccfiile.com

Can dogs sniff out Illegal aliens? Last time I checked dogs sniff out prospective criminals, which could include illegal aliens, bank robbers, people dealing in drugs that can be any nationality, people who kidnap, you name it, these dogs are supposed to do it. Now these dogs can be used by our glorious swat team to bite and chew people to death. Joe the "cockroach" Rizoli

Sue...I can see the pressure is being put on you from those that don't want the ring of freedom to be heard. I find it interesting when it comes to peoples opinions there are some that think that only the opinions of the ruling party should be heard. In Framingham this has definitely been the case for a while. I'm now starting to get the complaints about my cable shows. It's a news show, if you don't like the news than don't watch it. So far, free speech has prevailed. I think you've done a great job with this site trying to balance out what to allow on this site. In spite of all that, we have those that want certain ones banned here. Pretty harsh terms for those that have an opinion that might not be popular with the majority here. Hopefully you can stand up to these behind the scenes censors and do what's right. I might not agree with your decisions all the time but I think for the most part you are fair in what you've allowed here. Hopefully as Patch continues on here we can have more people commenting and contributing to the discussions on the site. Jim@ccfiile.com

Not clear to me at all .. What's the point of threatening to revoke a permission to comment if the person continues to go off topic and aimmind badger immigrants? When do you say "enough is enough"? The guy has a record of hate and anti semitism. His post "Can the dog sniff out illegal aliens?" is obnoxious. I'm tired of listening to Jim Rizoli rants against Jews and Brazilian immigrants. Think before you sleep tonight if you really want to go out on a limb for this guy.
Jim Rizoli January 02, 2012 at 03:53 AM
Rick..........I play by the rules. But seriously, some of you are going way off topic....I'm not the discussion point of this topic, but I guess I've been made it, by people that have ulterior motives. I don't see anyone trying to revoke my commenting here except you and your conspirators. If you want to take this off line here's my tel # 508-875-0835 and email. Jim@ccfiile.com

Rick you don't have to listen to Jim Rizoli. Just don't read his post. As to your slanderous accusations I think you must be thinking of Jim in your sleep...get a life..... Do the Rizolis care what you believe? We don't, believe me, seeing your opinions here you must have some pretty interesting beliefs that I can bet center on censorship because of hurt feelings. Go to court on that one.......... PS, we stand behind everything we post.....If you have a problem with it you can call us or email us, we would be happy to discuss anything you have a problem with.....Lastly, do you have connections to the ADL? Rick: I'm fully aware of what people say about Jim Rizoli, I've seen his comments here and elsewhere, and based on that I expect that he really does have some hate in his heart for immigrants and Jews. But I would go out on a limb for his right to speak in these forums as long as he follows the rules laid out by Patch, and I would go out on a limb for your right to do so too, even if you don't follow Susan's request to post your statements about Jim in a thread dedicated to that topic. And if Patch made a decision to ban either of you, I would support that too (since that is their perogative and the public nature of this forum does not mean that its use for free speech is guaranteed). But back to the point: this $10,000 grant interests me: I've seen several cases in the past year where the Framingham Police had to wait for dogs from other towns before they could pursue a missing person. I'm curious exactly how many cases would have been positively affected by the presence of a police dog in Framingham, and how much of the cost for establishing a K-9 unit is covered by this grant.

Where is Chet for this post? >>J. K. Rastani 10:07 am on Friday, December 30, 2011 Someone asked if the dog could sniff out illegal aliens. I wonder if it could also sniff out those who harrass them, as well.>> So it's offensive for a question to be asked about a dog sniffing out "illegal aliens" but its not offensive when that same dog is asked to sniff out American Citizens? Chet, help here, is that OK?? Is it also ok to be labeled a "cockroach". Wow.. if I said that about the illegals running around Framingham I'd be crucified......... By the way Chet, you do what most ill informed people do on the Illegal immigrant issue, you call them just "immigrants" and make sure you don't put the word "ILLEGAL" in front of it......Nobody is against "immigrants" who come to America with the right motives and do it LEGALLY. But the Chet's of this world always want to start trouble...... Joe Rizoli
