Framingham Police wants to alert residents about a phone scam, that cost one family $1,300.

Framingham Police wants to alert residents about a phone scam, that cost one family $1,300.

An individual calls and states your power is going to be shut off and to keep the power on you need to purchase money orders or pay with a credit card immediately.

This is a scam, said Framingham Police Lt. Frank Divittorio.

Residents are reminded to never give a credit card number or password to individuals who call you on the phone..
