A pedestrian died after being struck by a vehicle on Hope Street Sunday night in Mansfield.

Mansfield Police said the driver, Hung Manh Ho, 57, of Framingham, was drunk at the time of the crash. He was charged with OUI, vehicular homicide, and leaving the scene of an accident.

Police said the crash happened near Pratt Street at about 9:30 p.m. Witnesses said a white truck that hit the pedestrian fled the scene. Firefighters said they saw the truck fleeing the wrong way down North Main Street as they responded to the scene.

Officer Robert Pierce stopped the truck, a 2004 Ford F-350, and said there was damage to the hood and side mirror. Ho was scheduled to be arraigned Monday morning.

The victim's identity was not immediately released. Police said they were in the process of notifying family.
