Camp Canine Employee Arrested on Animal Cruelty Charges

The owner of the Route 126 kennel in Ashland, Kimberly Cardiff, spoke about the video footage of the abuse, calling it "horrific."

After an attack captured on the business's webcam, a Marlborough man has been charged with animal cruelty after repeatedly beating a one-year-old chocolate lab at the Ashland kennel at which he works, reported WCVB.

Ashland police arrested Michael Edison, 23, of Marlborough, who allegedly became angry with the dog named Dexter because he didn't want to come out of the pen at Camp Canine.

Owner of the kennel, Kimberly Cardiff, spoke about the video footage, calling it "horrific," said WCVB. Edison had worked at the kennel for more than two years. The video footage shows Edison hitting Dexter with a rake and dragging him by his collar to the kennel, eventually kicking him.
