Framingham Fire responded to Edmands Road Monday morning for a man unconscious and unresponsive, after a fall.

Responding to a medical call at 15 Edmands Rd. Monday morning, Framingham Fire Department and paramedics found a man, 53, unconscious and unresponsive at the bottom of a stairwell.

It appeared the man had fallen down the concrete steps. He had lost a lot of blood and was unresponsive, said the Framingham Fire Deputy.

A neighbor had found the man after 9 a.m., thought he was having a seizure, after the fall and called 9-1-1, said the fire deputy.

Because of the loss of blood, the head wound and not knowing how long the man had been unconscious, a medical helicopter was requested. It landed at the Massachusetts State Police headquarters and transported the man to a Boston hospital.

His condition is unknown at this time.
