UPDATED 11:30 p.m.
Framingham Police and Framingham Fire responded to a report of "multiple pedestrians" struck at Concord and Waverly streets about 7:30 p.m.
Deputy Fire Chief Kevin Burns said a man and a woman, in their 50s, were struck by a driver in a Mercury Sable about 7:30 p.m. in downtown Framingham.
The man was thrown to the ground, and suffered a serious head injury. As a precaution, he was taken to Beth Israel in Boston, said Burns.
The woman, struck by the same vehicle, had less serious injuries and was taken to MetroWest Medical Center. She may have lost a tooth.
Burns said the driver of the Mercury Sable did stop. He did not know if the driver was male or female.
Police are investigating. No citations issued at this time, said Framingham Police Lt. Ron Brandolini.
The man and woman were in the crosswalk when struck, said Brandolini, but the driver may not be at fault, he added.
