Pastor Involved in Alleged Assault Has Previous Domestic Violence Arrest

A Framingham Patch police log indicates that the man was arrested in 2013 for domestic assault and battery.

A Framingham man arrested over the weekend on a variety of assault charges is reportedly a pastor in town who was accused of a similar offense in 2013.

On Saturday after midnight, Timothy P. Jones, 55, of 208 Irving Street #L1, was arrested following a domestic incident. He was charged with domestic assault and battery, disturbing the peace, disorderly conduct, resisting arrest, witness intimidation, larceny from a person, and kidnapping of a minor by a relative.

According to a report in the MetroWest Daily News, Jones is a pastor at New Bethel Baptist Church.

The newspaper also reported that the charges came after Jones' girlfriend called 911 from inside the church. According to the report, the woman used a chair to barricade herself in a church bathroom and when police arrived she was found there bleeding and bruised. The woman's five-year-old child was also reportedly inside the church.

According to a police log entry posted on Framingham Patch, Timothy P. Jones of 208 Irving Street was arrested on August 21, 2013, after police were called for an allegedly violent incident the apartment. 

The log entry indicates that Jones was charged with domestic assault and battery following his 2013 arrest.

For the latest domestic incident, Jones is next due back in Framingham District Court on March 27.
