UPDATED: Boy, 10, Found at Bottom of Pool; Medical Helicopter Requested

The boy, 10 was removed from the apartment complex pool by the two lifeguards on duty, said Framingham Deputy Fire Chief Anthony Pillerella.

Framingham Fire and Police responded to a report of a child not breathing at the bottom of a pool on Queens Way, just after 5:30 p.m. on Friday night.

The boy, 10 was removed from the apartment complex pool by the two lifeguards on duty, said Framingham Deputy Fire Chief Anthony Pillerella.

Framingham firefighters performed rescue breathing on the child. It is unknown how long the child was underwater, said the deputy chief.

Firefighters from Engine 2 and the ambulance were able to resuscitate the boy on the scene.

A medical helicopter was requested. It landed at Framingham High School and transport the child to UMass Medical in Worcester.

By the time the child was put on to the helicopter, he was breathing, conscious, alert and talking, said Deputy Chief Pillerella.
