A car crashed into a pole and then slammed into a tree killing the driver on Franklin Street, early Thanksgiving morning around 3:10 a.m.
The accident happened just after the at 384 Franklin St.
While no one at the scene would officially confirm it was a fatality, police on the scanner requested the reconstruction team, the and the medical examiner.
At the scene, blocked off the road. The placed a sheet over the car lodged into the tree and then added a second sheet to block the scene, while awaiting the State Police reconstruction team, which was coming from another fatality in Freetown.
Initial scanner reports had the driver trapped in the car.
A neighbor near the accident, who didn't wish to be identified, said the driver was partially ejected from the car. "It is a nasty scene," he said.
