Major Walter Rivers: "Last week someone stole a musical instrument that belonged to my wife."

The Salvation Army in Downtown Framingham has suspended its Thursday and Friday night basketball program, after a couple of thefts during the games, it reported on its Facebook page.

"Until further notice I am discontinuing basketball on Thursday and Friday," wrote Major Walter Rivers on the Salvation Army's Facebook page Thursday night.

"I was told a few minutes ago that someone money from one of our players. Last week someone stole a musical instrument that belonged to my wife. This is not something I do lightly, but it is hoped that the culprit is found out or the items returned. Either way, this must not continue. I'm sorry to those who come and play to enjoy the fellowship," wrote Rivers.
