Trio of New Framingham Police Officers to Start Marathon Monday

On Marathon Monday, there will be more than 90 Framingham Police Officers along the route in town.

Among the officers will be newly-hired and sworn in Framingham Police Officers Shannon Burns, Alex Keefe and Chris Hendry. The trio were officially sworn in by Assistant Town Clerk Lisa Ferguson during a ceremony at Nevins Hall inside the Memorial Building Monday night.

Two of the new police officers have strong connections to Framingham.

Shannon Burns is the daughter of Framingham Deputy Fire Chief Kevin Burns. Chris Hendry is the son of Framingham Police Detective Larry Hendry.

Burns, a Framingham resident graduate, graduated from from Montrose School. In 2012, she graduated from Suffolk University with a Masters in criminal justice. She had an internship with the Massachusetts State Police and she has worked part-time as a dispatcher for the Natick Police Department.

Alex Keefe, an Eagle Scout, graduated from Marian High School. He has a criminal justice degree and is currently working towards his Masters in public administration. He has worked with the Ashland Fire Department.

Chris Hendry is a Framingham High graduate, who is working on his criminal justice degree at Worcester State University.
