UPDATED: Car Into Pole Closed Central Street Monday Morning

This is the second crash in less than a week to shut down Central Street.

Central Street in Framingham was closed this morning, July 14, due to a single car crash.

An elderly driver told Framingham Police her foot slipped from the brake to the gas, and thus her vehicle crashed into a pole on Central Street just after Copeland Road.

The woman, 87, had non-life threatening injuries and was taken to MetroWest Medical Center in Framingham, said Framingham Police Lt. Stephen Cronin.

The road was closed for about 30 minutes, but re-opened after 9 a.m.

Neighborhood residents said the woman was headed to MetroWest Medical Center to volunteer, when the crash happened Monday morning.
