A Worcester man was indicted by a grand jury this week for a violent home invasion on Beacon Street last September.
A Middlesex County grand jury indicted Celso Rivera, 32, of Worcester with home invasion, five counts of assault in a dwelling, three counts of kidnapping a child younger than 16, two counts of kidnapping, armed robbery and larceny of more than $250, according to a press release by the Middlesex District Attorney's office.
The Middlesex District Attorney's office said Rivera is one of five men, who were involved in a violent, armed home invasion on Beacon Street on Sept. 15 2013.
Framingham Police said a woman and her three children were zip-tied by the men, while the male homeowner was forced to open a home safe at gunpoint. Police said the five men escaped from the home with between $15,000 and $20,000 in cash and jewelry.
Rivera was arrested in North Carolina in October. Police were able to arrest Rivera as a boy, 9, in the home remembered one of the men touched the glass on the front door and did not wear gloves. A fingerprint was lifted and tied to Rivera.
No one else has been arrested for the home invasion.
Rivera is being held on $100,000. The case is being prosecuted by Jennifer Snook.
