Congresswoman Clark Pushes for Mandatory Vote on Immigration Reform

Clark: "Without comprehensive immigration reform, millions will continue to live in the shadows and our communities will forgo economic opportunity. America has already waited too long."

Congresswoman Katherine Clark, who represents Framingham, joined her Democratic colleagues in signing a discharge petition to force a vote on a bipartisan comprehensive immigration reform package.

“Without comprehensive immigration reform, millions will continue to live in the shadows and our communities will forgo economic opportunity. America has already waited too long," said Clark. “Business leaders agree we cannot continue to train, educate and invest in workers, only to send them to a different country where they will compete with us. Immigration reform is the critical piece of the puzzle to help us meet the demands for skilled and unskilled labor."

“The Senate has passed a comprehensive reform bill and now the House needs to take a vote. I’m proud to stand with my colleagues to demand a vote on immigration reform," said Clark in a written statement.
