Food Union Endorses Spilka For Congress

Representing more than 15,000 food and commercial workers and their families, UFCW Local 1445 endorsed Sen. Karen Spilka for Congress.

Representing more than 15,000 food and commercial workers and their families, UFCW Local 1445 endorsed Sen. Karen Spilka for Congress because of her strong record of fighting for the middle class.

“Karen has never backed down from the tough challenges and we know we can count on her to always be on our side,” said Jim Carvalho, Political Director of Local 1445 in a press release. “She leads with incredible determination, always finding ways to help bring jobs to our region and grow our economy. She is exactly what we need in Congress, a fighter who stands up for working families.”

Her number one priority is ensuring that the Fifth District continues to add jobs and has an economy that works for working people. A former labor lawyer, she is fighting to raise the minimum wage and will always protect workers’ rights to organize and collectively bargain.
