Framingham Hires New Health Director

The new health director left his position as public health policy administrator in Worcester to return to Framingham.

Framingham Town Manager Robert Halpin named Steven Ward as the town's new health director. He started work on Monday, Aug. 19

Ward replaces Ethan Mascoop, who left in April. 

Former Health Director Robert Cooper acted as interim health director during the search process.

Ward had been the Public Health Policy Administrator in Worcester since January. Previously, he was the Director of Public Health in Watertown from 1995 to 2012. 

Ward was previously employed by the Town of Framingham as chief Sanitarian, prior to working in Watertown.
