Framingham To Honor 6 Veterans Killed in Action at Memorial Day Ceremony

Massachusetts Medals of Liberty are scheduled to be presented to six families during the Town of Framingham Memorial Day ceremony.

The Town of Framingham will honor veterans with a Memorial Day ceremony on Monday, May 26.

During the ceremony, Massachusetts Medals of Liberty are scheduled to be presented to six family members of service personnel killed in action. Medals will be awarded to: 

  • Family of Fred Murphy, WWI
  • Family of Elio Bonvini, WWII 
  • Family of Luigi D. Ferrazzi, WWII 
  • Family of Alessandro L. Falconi, WWII
  • Family of Merton L. Chouinard, WWII
  • Family of Philip Rogers Thomas, Korea

The ceremony will start at 11 a.m. with a short parade of veterans and Boy and Girl Scouts from William Welch Way to the steps of the Memorial Building, led by the color guard from the Framingham Firefighters, Local 1652, according to Framingham Veterans Agent Peter Harvell.

The guest speaker will be Major Michael Currie, Massachusetts National Guard.

The public is invited to attend.
